House Wash (Soft Wash) FAQ

  • We utilize soft wash techniques performed by using detergents to clean your home rather than high pressure. We do receive requests for cleaning siding with pressure only and here are the reasons we do not offer this service:

    • All paint and siding manufacturers recommend using detergents to avoid damage to vinyl and aluminum siding

    • A handful allow high pressure for cleaning, so if you are aware of your siding manufacturer, we suggest looking up their cleaning recommendations. Please let us know if you need help finding the information, and we will be happy to help.

    • Will using detergents hurt vegetation, pets, or people? No, it is the industry standard to use detergents that are highly diluted and thoroughly rinsed after application. If a company killed vegetation with their house washes, they probably wouldn’t be in business for long.

  • Our process: or what you can expect from us?

    • We will find a date that works for you. (you do not need to be home for the service)

    • As a reminder, a confirmation text will be sent to you when you book your service and the day before.

    • On the day of service, our technician will send a text with his ETA.

    • Upon arrival, our technician will announce himself and will address any questions or concerns you may have.

    • After completing the work, our technician will announce that he is finished and request that you look around to ensure you are satisfied.

    • Payment can be made on the spot with a check or paid securely online via an invoice sent by text or email.

  • The house wash covers:

    • All siding, trim, fixtures, windows, doors, garage doors, the ceilings and rails of front porches and porticos, the exterior of gutters and downspouts, and spot cleaning of 1st level brick façade.

The house wash does not cover:

    • Decks, walkways, patios, fences, foundations, discoloration on brick chimneys, roofs, etc.

  • What does come off with a house wash:

    • Organic materials such as mold, mildew, algae, and moss, as well as debris, dirt, spider webs, pollen, and bird droppings

What doesn't come off with a house wash:

    • Light gray vertical stripes on gutters known as "tiger striping," corrosion on aluminum siding, rust, and red clay. Things with adhesive properties, such as caulk, paint, and artillery fungus, will not come off. Things like wasp nests and carpenter bee droppings may only come off partially.

  • This is what we need from you:

    • Please ensure your vehicles are moved at least 15 feet from your home.

    • We need a functioning water spigot, preferably in the front of your home.

    • If you have dogs, please ensure your yard is picked up within 15 feet of your home.

    • If there are small potted plants next to your home or things like wind chimes, please move them to a safe location so we can focus on cleaning your home rather than maneuvering around breakable obstacles.
